LAS VEGAS — Procter & Gamble (PG), the 181-year-old consumer products maker known for brands like Tide, Crest and Charmin, has stormed the world's largest consumer technology conference.

P&G is a first-time exhibitor at CES this year. The four-day conference officially opens on Tuesday, but the Cincinnati-based company on Sunday introduced a half dozen tech-infused personal hygiene and beauty products in the works.

At a pre-CES media briefing, Chief Brand Officer Marc Pritchard said the company is revamping familiar brands with cutting-edge technology.

Procter & Gamble showed off a heated razor from Gillette. The razor features a warming bar that heats up in less than one second, Pritchard said.

"We're bringing the barber shop hot towel shaving experience every day," Pritchard said.

Production Run Sells Out

P&G launched the new razor on crowdfunding website Indiegogo and quickly sold out its initial production run of 1,000-plus units. The company plans to solicit feedback from early adopters before a commercial version is introduced.

Procter & Gamble also showed off its Oral-B Genius X toothbrush. The new toothbrush uses artificial intelligence to recognize how users are brushing and provides personalized feedback that leads to better brushing and oral health.

P&G's Olay Skin Advisor platform also uses artificial intelligence. The web-based analytics platform can analyze your skin care needs with selfie photos.

The company also trotted out the Opte Precision Skincare System. The handheld device scans the skin, detects hyperpigmentation and applies corrective serum with precision application.

P&G stock broke out of a cup-with-handle base at a buy point of 90.80 on Nov. 5 and remains in the buy zone. It was flat, near 92.50, in premarket trading on the stock market today.
