Kering Board Nominates Ginevra Elkann as DirectorThe French luxury group will ask shareholders to approve the nomination of the Italian film producer to succeed economist Laurence Boone.

[Collection]PARIS – Kering has named Ginevra Elkann, the granddaughter of Italian industrialist Gianni Agnelli, to its board of directors to replace Laurence Boone, who resigned following her appointment in June as the OECD’s chief economist. The board unanimously nominated Elkann, whose appointment as an independent director will be submitted to shareholders for approval at the French luxury group’s next annual general meeting on April 24. The London-born Italian film producer is president of two film production and distribution companies, Asmara Films and Good Films, in addition to heading the Pinacoteca Giovanni & Marella Agnelli in Turin, Italy. The sister of John Elkann, chairman of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and Lapo Elkann, the founder of the Italia Independent lifestyle and clothing brand, Ginevra Elkann is a director of Exor, the holding company controlled by the Agnelli family. She is also a member of the advisory board at Christie’s, the auction house owned by Groupe Artémis, the investment arm of the Pinault family which controls Kering.
