News leaks turned out to be accurate, robbing Apple of any surprises at its launch event in New York City.

Apple unveiled two sizes of its new high-end iPad Pro tablets for creative professionals. The tablets come in display sizes of 11 and 12.9 inches with narrower borders. They boast upgraded processors for faster performance. Plus, the new tablets have been optimized for augmented reality applications.

Apple eliminated the physical home button with the new models and added Face ID facial-recognition technology for secure log-in.

They launched with revamped accessories, including a second-generation Apple Pencil stylus and new Smart Keyboard Folio.

The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $799, while the 12.9-inch model starts at $999. Both are available for preorder now and will go on sale Nov. 7.

"These are the most exciting iPads we have ever created," Chief Executive Tim Cook said. "You are going to be amazed by what you can do with this product."
